Mind the sun, between the sky and the earth

Today I had a pleasant and fruitful meeting with Beth in Athens. Beth comes from North America and lives in Greece since 1973. She joins Athens Wing, an association promoting women's business and personal development. I am also a member of Athens Wing and this membership was our connecting point. We discussed about issues happening in Greece and in other countries all over the world. We talked about human behavior and cultural differences. I was glad to meet Beth because she gave me a new perspective of living in Greece. She highlighted the different lifestyle between Greeks and Americans. The Greeks keep a balance between work and personal life, while the Americans are in a constant pursuit of career development. Even when they retire, they spend 5 hours daily in the gym. Working becomes a sort of compulsion which offers little pleasure.
Greece is currently facing tremendous historical changes. Uncertainty is spread all over our daily life. The situation on earth is difficult but challenging. The situation in the sky is free from problems and full of fantasies. Somewhere in between is the sun: the stimuli that give us inspiration, encouragement and motivation to keep on with our lives. Beth mentioned the beneficial energy of the sun in the Greeks' life. It is an energy we sometimes forget and sink into despair. Let's have a look up there and permit ourselves to drift away for an instance.
I would like to finish this post with a grateful "thank you" to Beth!
